When we were kids, there was nothing better than playing video games. There was something about the combination of imagination and action that made it so much fun. I don’t remember anything being as exciting as playing video games and discussing them with friends. Especially since this was all pretty new to us and there were no streamers who would walk you through an entire game play. If I were honest, I’d say that even though these games were not as sophisticated as the ones we have now, in many ways they were even better! But some games were better than others, and here’s a list of our favourites:

Super Mario World

Super Mario World is a platform game developed and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It was the first game in the Super Mario series to feature save functionality, which allowed players to save their progress at any time with a battery backup. The game was released in Japan on November 21, 1990; in North America on August 27th, 1991; and Europe on October 23rd, 1991.

Super Mario World is generally considered to be one of the best games ever made: It has an iconic soundtrack and appearance that’s still instantly recognizable today. A must-play for any gamer!

Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a platform video game developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega, released for the Sega Genesis on November 24, 1992 in North America and December 1992 in Europe. It’s a sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog which was released earlier that year.

The main objective of Sonic 2 is to defeat Doctor Robotnik and prevent his plans to turn all animals into robots. The player must control Sonic as he travels through various zones where he must stop Robotnik from collecting Chaos Emeralds that would allow him complete control over time itself.

All of the Legend of Zelda games

The series is one of the best-selling video game franchises in history, with over 100 million copies sold as of June 2016.

The gameplay consists of navigating through dungeons, either alone or with a partner (either human or computer controlled). Dungeons are typically labyrinthine; one dungeon in the first game had over 180 rooms.

Earthbound/Mother 3

Have you ever played an RPG game? If not, Earthbound is a great place to start. It’s a console video game released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1995, and it was developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo.

The game is set in Eagleland (otherwise known as America) where you play as Ness – a young boy who can use psychic powers. Ness must save his home town of Onett from Giygas, an alien who wants to destroy all of existence.

Earthbound has many unique features including its quirky humor, unique setting and soundtrack by composer Hirokazu Tanaka (also known as ‘Mr Sound’). This makes it stand out from other RPGs at the time that were mostly set in fantasy worlds with medieval elements such as castles or dragons!

Conclusion

We know that this list is far from comprehensive. There are so many more games that you may have loved as a child that we didn’t include here. And there are plenty of other ways to play video games now that weren’t around when we were kids—like virtual reality. But as long as there are new ways to play, we think that these classic games will always be remembered fondly by those who grew up playing them.
